Like the rest of Florida, Central Florida features a number of beaches throughout the regions of Volusia County, Flagler County, Brevard County, St. Johns County, Indian River County and Citrus County.  Of these many regions, the most recognizable and arguably the best beaches lie in Volusia and Flagler County.

Perhaps the most recognizable of the Central Florida beaches is Daytona Beach, affectionately recognized by residents as “The Most Famous Beach of the World”.  It’s instantly recognizable name is largely due to the NASCAR races once held on the beach.  The sun-kissed coasts are heavily favored by tourists and several business offer activities like parasailing and deep-sea fishing.

Due to Daytona Beach’s popularity, it can often become extremely crowded during the Daytona racing events.  This is where New Smyrna Beach shines.  It has a much more peaceful setting and there are substantially fewer developments than there are in Daytona Beach.

Tons of parks and nature preserves lie within Central Florida like Bulow Creek State Park which is famous for its well preserved live oak forest to the kayaking of Hontoon Island State Park in Deland and the landscapes of Washington Oaks Gardens in the city of Palm Coast.
