Central Florida is already on a peninsula so there’s never a shortage of avid diving and seafaring activities to explore.  Cities like Daytona Beach and New Smyrna Beach cater heavily towards tourists so there are always businesses that allow you to rent boating vessels of various types so you can enjoy parasailing, fishing or diving.

Deland Florida has Hontoon Island State Park located within the St. John’s River.  If you own your own boating vessel, you can explore the island at your own leisure and its history and marine life or you can also decide to just go fishing.

Sebastian Inlet State Park along the eastern coastline has earned a sterling reputation for its variety of fish like bluefish, snook and the Spanish mackerel.  The park also contains nearly three miles of beachfront which are popular for swimming, sunbathing as well as snorkeling and scuba diving.

It’s also worth noting that many parks throughout Central Florida have campsites which allow you to plan fishing weekends or vacations.
