Volusia County has a balanced mix of traditional public schools, colleges and vocational schools.  Particularly worth nothing is the University of Central Florida and its Daytona Beach campus.  Formerly intended to train personnel to work at Kennedy Space Center, the university now offers more than 220 distinct degree programs and belongs to the top ten best up and coming universities in the country.

Besides the University of Central Florida, there are also top rated public institutions like Indian River Elementary, David C Hinson Middle School, New Smyrna Beach High School and the Advanced Technology College.

Private and vocational schools in Volusia County include the Crown Christian Academy in Daytona Beach, Deltona’s Township Vocational School of Fin, Grace Academy in Ormond Beach and Port Orange’s Rock Church Academy.  All of these schools have consistently received high marks.
