The city of DeLand Florida is perhaps best known as the county seat of Volusia County and the place where films like The Waterboy and Days of Thunder were shot. Its also cultivated a reputation for its fascinatingly varied array of historic architecture, particularly the 19th century edifices in the Downtown DeLand areas Woodland Boulevard which is better known as the Downtown DeLand Historic District. Additionally, the Garden District features its own unique buildings as well as several DeLand homes and businesses. The citys Skydive DeLand facility is one of the very few thats open year-round.
